Good Afternoon GHS Families,

This is Dr. Mygas calling.  You may be aware that GCPS has adopted the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to deal with emergency situations in all schools.  In an effort to ensure that everyone understands why we are using the SRP, all GCPS staff members and middle and high school students will watch a video provided by the I Love You Guys Foundation, which created the SRP.  The video is a little over seven minutes, and provides good information and perspective for all of us. GHS will show the video in all classes at the beginning of second block tomorrow, Thursday, May 2, right after the morning announcements. I encourage all parents and guardians to watch the video and discuss it with your children.

While the video is designed for students, I recognize that viewing it could cause some students to become upset or uncomfortable.  If any students have concerns, they should notify their teacher, and they will be allowed to leave the room while the video is playing, and to visit the School Counseling Office if needed.

Thank you, and have a great day.
